🔍 The term imposter syndrome is a loaded phrase. I characterise it as an emotional response to something, usually a gap or a “perceived” gap in competency.

When seeking to understand imposter syndrome:

💭 Ask yourself what emotions you are experiencing. How might you deflect attention towards these?

And, for the avoidance of doubt - it’s OK to feel these emotions! Emotions are neither right nor wrong. They are just emotions; they’re normal and natural and represent what it means to be human. Avoid labeling yourself with them, however; you are not your emotions.

🔄 Examine the context - it matters: to what degree are you in your stretch zone dealing with a steep learning curve?

🌱 Re-frame imposter syndrome and shift your thinking to be inspired by those around you who have more experience. How might you move from a position of intimidation to inspiration.

If you feel the burden of imposter syndrome, it will likely limit your abilities. Breaking it down will help you forge ahead.
